The new 15.3km2waterfront city, which will add 40km, including 21km of beachfront to Dubai's coastline, is expected to contributesignificantly to the government's tourism vision.
All four DeiraIslandswill feature hotels, resorts and residential, commercial and retail units andwill become a new cultural, residential and commercial hub for theEmirate.
Nakheel will master plan andcomplete infrastructure work ready for third party development on each island.The developer also plans to build five hotels of its own at the Islands.
The tender calls for roadworks for two of the islands - A and B - approximately 860 hectares in total.Bids should be in by 17 June, 2014.
In April Nakheel said in a statement that ithad appointedAE7for the design and supervision services includingmaster planning and infrastructure design for DeiraIslandsunder a contract worth $7.6mn
