Qatar Rail has signed agreements totally worthover $32 billion, in order to proceed with the Doha Metro Project, said HamadAl-Bishri, deputy CEO and chief program officer, Qatar Rail.
“Today, we are proud to announce that we haveofficially begun work for the setup of the metro stations in 20 out of 25locations, and started with the preliminary drilling works for the metrotunnels — reaching close to 5 meters in depth in some locations — in key areas,in hopes that Phase 1 of the Doha Metro will be completed in 2019,” Al-Bishriadded.
Similarly, we are movingahead at great speed with The Lusail Light Rail Transit, slated to beofficially delivered by end of 2016; having already finalized the drillingworks for the project’s tunnels, we’ve completed over 55 percent of thedrilling works for its stations.
